1. Chester Farmer's Market

If you're okay with a short, scenic drive outside of Fort Smith and a lot of never-know-what-you're-gonna-find fun, then the Chester Farmer's Market is for you! It will be held at 120 Wright Street, just across from the Chester Country Cafe on Saturday, Sept. 4, from 8-11 AM. 2. Chick Day in Van Buren

Want to pick up some baby chicks? Heartland Hatchery will be in Van Buren on Friday, Sept. 3, with a good variety of baby chicks, plus ducks and heritage turkey poults, plus a few guineas. 3. Labor Day Friend Frenzy at Parrot Island Waterpark

Got a season pass from Parrot Island Waterpark? Saturday, Sept. 4, is the day you can bring a friend for free! The Labor Day Friend Frenzy will go from noon on Sept. 4 all weekend long, ending at 6 PM on Monday, Sept. 6. Take advantage! For more information, click here

4. Downtown Junk Fest

Downtown Junk Fest in Van Buren offers an appealing assortment of rustic, vintage, and antique goods that are anything but! This festival in historic downtown Van Buren will go from 9 AM Saturday, Sept. 4, through 4 PM on Sunday, Sept. 5, and promises a lot of fun for shoppers of all ages. 5. Junie B. Jones: The Musical Auditions at Community School of the Arts

Do you have a little performer in your house, grades 3-6? If so, you might want to rush them down to audition prep for the Community School of the Arts' presentation of Junie B. Jones: The Musical! This stellar production based on the classic Barbara Park books about the world's funniest first-grader will be a delight to anyone who's ever read about Jones's exploits.
