Every Sunday, Macaroni Kid Fort Smith shares five things to do with your kids in Fort Smith, Arkansas, over the coming week.

Here is Macaroni Kid Fort Smith's picks for the five things to do in the River Valley area with kids for the week ending Nov. 28, 2021. (Thanksgiving is here!) Click on the links for all the details!

1. Opening Day at D&C Holiday Farm

Still haven't found the perfect tree? Not to worry! D&C Holiday Farm in Muldrow has you covered. You'll want to make haste out there on Friday morning, Nov. 26, at 10 AM, perhaps after that first round of Black Friday shopping. There will be choose-and-cut trees while supplies last and a fully stocked gift shop with tons of great Christmas decorations available for purchase. Click here for more information!

2. Salvation Army's Christmas Kick-Off 2021

Drop off a monetary donation, make an electronic transfer via Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or Venmo. Or, you can purchase a new toy and leave it at this KISR-hosted event. Two locations: First National Bank of Fort Smith and Citizens Bank and Trust of Van Buren. Click here for more information about how you can make a needy child's season a little happier and brighter.

3. River Front Grand Prix

This unique race has been at the same location at 5700 Midland Blvd for 27 years. This year's festivities are Nov. 27 and 28. You'll need to click here for ticketing information and more details.

4. Support Small Business Saturday

What's awesome about supporting small businesses like those in downtown Fort Smith and Van Buren, The Shops at BrickCity, and everywhere else not owned by a national or international conglomerate? Well, let's see.

Your spending helps support our Police and Fire Departments. You get quality, local goods that you don't have to worry about no-showing your Christmas celebration. And you support the workers and companies that are giving the most to the River Valley day-in and day-out.

Make some time in your schedule and budget. Together, we can make a difference!

5. Thanksgiving

Thursday is the Big One. If you want to take the work out of that Thanksgiving meal, then give one of the following restaurants a call: Calico County, The Rialto, Jeff's Club House, Art's BBQ & Burgers, PT's Manor, Smokey B's Barbeque, and Twig's BBQ. Better act fast, though, because these restaurants need time to prep!
