1. Everyday Heroes 25K
It's not just a race. It's an experience that you don't want to miss with great swag at the end, along with Superheroes, fun, food, T-Shirts, and more! You don't have to run the whole 25K. You don't even have to run at all. Check it out on May 14 in Barling. Click the link for more information!
2. Lake Louemma Park Fishing Rodeo For Kids
Crawford County Conservation League will host the Annual Fishing Rodeo located on Arkansas 59 just north of the Interstate 40 overpass in Van Buren. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be stocking the lake, which will be closed from the time of stocking until after the kids’ rodeo. The event will be held rain or shine but will not be held if there is lightning in the area. For children ages 15 and younger. Click the link for more information.
3. Friends of the Library Mostly Fiction Used Book Sale
Book clearance time, all week long from May 9-15 at the Fort Smith Public Library Main Branch! There are still many hardbacks and paperbacks from your favorite authors available, priced by the bag. Call 479-783-0229 or stop by the library to find out today's price.
A "non-fiction" sale will be held in August and a “children’s” sale in October. Proceeds from the sale are used to buy library materials and fund library special events and projects. More information is available at the link.
4. 1922 Free Bridge Commemorative Celebration
Come learn the rich 100-year history of the Garrison Bridge (aka the "Million Dollar Free Bridge") to the Frisco Station. There will be reenactments and an antique automobile parade featuring cars you would have seen crossing over from different eras of the Bridge's history. It all goes down on May 14 from 1:30-4 PM. 5. Fort Smith Comic Con 2022
The inaugural year of the Fort Smith Comic Con, hopefully, an annual thing going forward will hit downtown Fort Smith on May 14 and 15 from the Wyndham Fort Smith City Center at 700 Rogers Avenue.
