1. Fourth of July Frenzy
Drop by Parrot Island Waterpark for the last day of the Fourth of July Frenzy on, you guessed it, Monday the Fourth! Season pass holders can bring a friend for free. In addition to the usual slippery-slidery fun, there will be circus acts each day. Park is open from 10 AM to 7 PM. Click here for more details.
2. The Mayor's 4th of July Celebration
The Mayor's 4th of July Celebration returns to Harry E. Kelley River Park on July 4, 2022. This year, the region's largest Independence Day celebration and fireworks display is bringing food trucks, free public transportation, giveaways, and LIVE entertainment by DJ Grand Master P., Who Shot JR, The River Valley Community Band, and two-time American Country Music NEW Female Vocalist Nominee RAELYNN! 3. Second Saturday Shopping in Historic Downtown Van Buren
These days are full of shopping, dining, and strolling the streets to find those sweet deals. Each month there is usually a different theme with live music, food trucks, and street vendors. July's will be on Saturday, July 9, from 10 AM-6 PM. Click here for more information.
4. Summer StoryTime Week
Miss Shannon and a variety of special guests including Pawficer Fuzz will kick off summer with this week-long Summer StoryTime Event. Starting Tuesday, July 5, and going through regular story time on Saturday, Miss Shannon will lead young readers on reading adventures with the help of her friend, Pete the Cat! 5. Youth Fishing Clinic
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will offer a beginning fishing clinic for free on Tuesday, July 5, at 10 AM, from the Arkansas River Valley Nature Center. The clinic will provide youth (aimed at AGES 10-15 but any youth under 16 is welcome to participate) the opportunity to learn basics about fish biology, as well as gain fishing skills related to casting, and the differences in using bait vs lures/jigs.
